"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me." - Galatians 2:20

Hello Friends,

This summer our ladies from church have been enjoying the study Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl by Lysa Terkeurst . A couple weeks ago my friend Carrie and fellow servant of our Lord to our women, sent me an email regarding one of our sessions. Her words are encouraging as she shares a practical way of applying scripture to her daily interaction with her daughters. With her permission, I would like to share with you her thoughts for this weeks post.

From her heart to yours:

I wanted to share something the Lord has been teaching me, I realize it might seem very basic to some of you, but since the idea originated with the Becoming More study I thought I should share it with you. So here is my AH-HA moment.

I loved the example Lysa gave a few weeks ago of the Lord's prayer. How Jesus asked God for provision for that day (Give us today our daily bread. Matt 6:11 NIV) I decided to try this theory myself with my children. "Lord just for today give me patience with my children. Help me to show them the love, grace and patience that you show us all." I have been praying this every morning and sometimes during the day when a reminder is needed ;) And you know what?.....it is working!

When I am focused on the Lord supplying me for that day, instead of my own strength, I am empowered because I know He is working in me and through me to glorify Him! This doesn't mean the days are automatically easy. There are still squabbles, tantrums, disciplinary issues, messes to clean, etc. But when I know I don't have to react out of my humanness because I specifically asked God to cover that area, I find it easier, even more natural, to make the right choices. Of course I will mess up again, but I am covered in God's grace and I will not let Satan make me feel defeated!

I think all too often we forget about the immeasurable gift we have been given in the Holy Spirit. Do we use this amazing gift in our daily lives to live more godly and point people to their Savior? When I keep in perspective all the undeserved grace and patience He shows me on a daily basis surely I can do my best, with the help of the Holy Spirit, to show a portion of that to my children.

I don't have to be Super Mom (or whatever your role/calling is right now) because I have a super God who enables me to do exactly what I need to do for where He has put me, as long as I acknowledge and rely on His power and love! God is good and He is faithful!

Love, Carrie

Thank you Carrie. What a great reminder and well stated my sister! God Bless you friends. Praying each of us relies on the strength of the Holy Spirit to be our portion to overcome our natural flesh in order to love and serve those around us! See you next week.
